Lip Dubbing? Yes!

29. November 2008 by April · Filed under: Music, Videos · 4 Comments

One thing I love about Vimeo is all the lip dubbing videos that people post. Some aren’t that great, but others are just hilarious! If you don’t know what lip dubbing is, this is what the founder of Vimeo had to say:

Jakob Lodwick, the founder of Vimeo, coined the term “lip dubbing” on December 14, 2006, in a video entitled “Lip Dubbing: Endless Dream“. In the video’s description, he wrote, “I walked around with a song playing in my headphones, and recorded myself singing. When I got home I opened it in iMovie and added an MP3 of the actual song, and synchronized it with my video. Is there a name for this? If not, I suggest ‘lip dubbing’.”

Great video done by a lot of people and a good amount of time and effort!

Lip Dub – Need You Tonight by INXS from sarahlane on Vimeo.

This one was cute! Two people on an airplane, one munching on pretzels and keeps going.

Rocket Man Lip Dub from Underground Planet on Vimeo.

And probably the most popular lip dubbing video to date, directed by Jakob Lodwick himself!

I watched the dancing queen one. I like that song. Can’t say much for the lip dubbing though. Just saying. I’m probably too old. Have a great weekend. :)
